“I hereby crown Prince Cevi Yusuf Isnendar as the King of the Cultural Customary of the Banjar Kalimantan Region with the title Sultan Cevi Yusuf Isnendar Al-Banjari” (Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Fadli Zon)
Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Fadli Zon has inaugurated Sultan Cevi Yusuf Isnendar as the King of Banjar Kalimantan Culture. The inauguration was held at the Kraton Majapahit Jakarta, one of the philosophical miniatures of part of the palace of the Majapahit Empire that once reigned supreme in the archipelago.
Sultan Cevi Yusuf Isnendar is the son of Queen Yus Roostianah, who is the son of Prince Sadibansyah, son of Prince Alibasyah, son of Prince Hidayatullah, crown prince of Sultan Adam.
Prince Hidayatullah was loved by the Banjar people but disliked by the Dutch, to the point of leading resistance against the Dutch who they considered to have caused misery to the Banjar people. The Dutch then appointed Tamjidullah as Sultan of Banjar, as a form of division, but was opposed by the people.
The Banjar people continued to fight. Prince Hidayatullah with a letter from his father Sultan Adam ascended the throne supported by the nobles and warlords. The will was dated 12 Safar 1259 Hijriyah with the first witness being Mufti Haji Jamaluddin and the second witness being Penghulu Haji Mahmud. This will shows the authenticity that Prince Hidayatullah was the legitimate Sultan of Banjar, unlike the history written by the Dutch Colonial.
The war continued, finally Prince Hidayatullah was defeated due to the cunning strategy of the Dutch and along with his family were exiled by the Dutch to Cianjur, West Java. One of his uncles, Prince Antasari continued to wage war until he was defeated by the Dutch. Prince Antasari's childhood name is Gusti Inu Kertapati, his mother is Gusti Hadijah, granddaughter of Sultan Sulaiman and his father is Prince Amir, son of Sultan Muhammad Aliuddin Aminullah.
The coronation of Sultan Cevi Yusuf Isnendar was also carried out by a number of figures from Majelis Agung Raja Sultan Indonesia, the supreme council of Indonesian kings and sultans, including Teuku Raja Keumangan, Regent of Nagan Raya, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, who is the successor to the Beutong Kingdom with the title of Paduka Yang Mulia Ampon Daulat Tuanku Raja Beutong IX. Majelis Agung Raja Sultan Indonesia was confirmed by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Indonesia in 2017.
The coronation of Sultan Cevi Yusuf Isnendar as the King of Banjar Culture, Kalimantan by the Minister of Culture, Dr. Fadli Zon, is a form of respect from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to the descendants of the Sultan of Banjar and the Banjar People in their struggle against colonialism and to straighten out the history of the Indonesian Nation, one part of which is the Banjar People.
Sultan Cevi Yusuf Isnendar is the first and still the only cultural king inaugurated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, as the legitimate state authority in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, since the proclamation of Indonesian independence read by Bung Karno and Bung Hatta on August 17, 1945.
Also present were a number of invitees from various embassies of friendly countries such as Palestine, the United States, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Timor Leste, Pakistan and India, which were utilized by a number of members of Majelis Agung Raja Sultan Indonesia to establish cultural relations with these friendly countries.
