GLOBAL THREE-WAY BATTLE AND SOCIAL LOSSES DUE TO MASS DEMONSTRATIONS IN 2025

The Situation in Russia, China, and India

  1. Russia

Russia is currently a prime target for global capitalists. After the outbreak of war with Ukraine, Western sanctions were insufficient to weaken Moscow. NGOs were then used to stir up social unrest domestically. Youth mobilization in Moscow and St. Petersburg increased over issues such as the environment, freedom of expression, and anti-corruption. Western NGO funding continued to flow even though Russia had closed many foreign NGOs since 2022. The strategic goal was to create a "Moscow Spring" similar to the Arab Spring, shaking up the Russian government, which was considered anti-Western imperialism.

  1. China

China has become not only an economic competitor but also a target for social destabilization. Global NGOs exploited the Uyghur, Tibetan, and Hong Kong issues as a gateway to international pressure. Foreign funds were directed towards human rights groups, labor activists, and students critical of the Chinese Communist Party. This strategy projects China as a repressive state, enabling local protests to be elevated to the global stage.

  1. India

India, as founding member of BRICS, is also being targeted by global capitalists. Farmer movements in Delhi and Punjab were used as instruments of pressure. International NGO funding is provided for environmental, human rights, and social justice issues. The strategic goal is to weaken the Hindu-nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and displace India from the BRICS orbit.

  1. Indonesia

Indonesia is at a strategic crossroads in this three-way global struggle. As a member of BRICS and a country that consistently supports Palestinian independence, Indonesia is positioned by global capitalists as a target for political destabilization.

Farmer & Worker Demonstrations: On September 24, 2025, more than 25,000 farmers held simultaneous demonstrations in Jakarta and various provinces, bringing nine national demands. These actions overlapped with labor and student movements, increasing the scale of the mobilization.

Environmental & Agrarian Issues: International NGOs actively fund campaigns on climate change, land grabbing, and deforestation. These issues are aimed at undermining Indonesia's downstream mining and carbon trading programs.

Unrest & Social Losses: Violent protests and demonstrations in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya resulted in damage to public facilities. National economic losses are estimated at IDR 900 billion to IDR 1.2 trillion, not including social impacts such as decreased productivity, psychological trauma, and declining investor confidence.

Non-Military Subversion Strategy: Funding from foreign institutions (NED, IRI, Freedom House, OSF, USAID) are directed towards building a permanent opposition network which can be mobilized at any time.

With an increasingly assertive geopolitical position in the multipolar camp, Indonesia now faces three layers of pressure:

  1. Economic, through capital outflows and global corporate intervention.
  2. Social, through the mobilization of farmers, workers, students, as well as environmental issues.
  3. Political, through efforts to delegitimize pro-BRICS and pro-Palestinian governments.
