SENAYANPOST - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a phone call from the President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, on Thursday night, June 12, 2025.
What did the two of them talk about? This was revealed by the Indonesian Cabinet Secretary, Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya.
According to Teddy, the communication between the two heads of state lasted for almost 15 minutes.
During the conversation, Prabowo and Trump were said to have asked each other for news and shared information about the current situation in each country.
"The two leaders asked each other for news and the latest developments, both in America and in Indonesia," he said in a written statement on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Teddy added that in the conversation, President Prabowo and President Trump also expressed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and the United States.
"Both also agreed to continue to enhance cooperation between Indonesia and the United States, and affirmed their support for efforts to maintain global stability and peace," he said.
Previously, on November 11, 2024, Prabowo also had a voice call with President Trump.
On that occasion, Prabowo expressed his desire to have further dialogue and meet in person. Trump responded by opening up a communication space without a time limit.
"You can contact me anytime. You, you have my phone number, here's the number," Trump said at that time.
Prabowo at that time expressed his hope that cooperation between Indonesia and the United States could be further enhanced through more intensive and productive discussions in the future.*
