SENAYANPOST - The East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum conducted a friendly visit to the East Java Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Office in Surabaya, Tuesday (05/27/2025). The East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum group led directly by the Chairperson of the East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum, Prof. Dr. Husniyatus Salamah Zainiyati, M.Ag., was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Chairperson of the East Java Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership, Dr. H. Sholihin Fanani, PSDM.
This visit is an important momentum to strengthen cooperation and synergy between the East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum and Muhammadiyah in efforts to prevent radicalism and acts of terrorism in East Java.
In her remarks, Prof. Husniyatus Salamah Zainiyati conveyed the importance of collaboration across elements of society in preventing the growth of ideologies that lead to radicalism and terrorism.
"The problem of radicalism and terrorism cannot be handled by the government or institutions such as the National Counterterrorism Agency and the East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum alone. It requires cooperation from all parties, including large mass organizations such as Muhammadiyah," he said.
He also introduced the management of the East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum and expressed appreciation for Muhammadiyah's contribution through the Community Da'wah Institute in assisting former terrorist convicts.
"The Muhammadiyah Community Da'wah Institute has carried out extraordinary da'wah and mentoring work, this is worthy of being an example of good practice in society," he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. H. Sholihin Fanani welcomed the invitation for synergy and expressed Muhammadiyah's readiness to take an active part in preventing radicalism.
"We would like to thank the East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum for their visit. Muhammadiyah is always open to synergy in maintaining the integrity of the nation and state from the threat of destructive ideologies." In line with that, Muchamad Arifin as Head of Research Division of East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum appreciated the role of the Muhammadiyah East Java Regional Leadership Community Preaching Institute which has a troop of peace agent preachers who continue to actively prevent the spread of radicalism.
"These preachers are the spearheads in building a narrative of peace and tolerance in society"
Head of Women and Children Division of East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum Faridatul Hanum, also expressed her commitment to being involved in programs that target vulnerable groups, especially women and children, so that they are not easily exposed to violent ideology.
"We are ready to join hands with Muhammadiyah for more holistic prevention programs."
The meeting ended with a light discussion and a follow-up plan to explore more concrete collaboration in various community-based terrorism prevention activities.
