SENAYANPPOST — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto emphasized Indonesia's commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with the People's Republic of China (PRC) to create a peaceful, safe and prosperous region for all.
Prabowo made the statement when receiving an official visit from Chinese PM Li Qiang at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday morning (25/5), in a bilateral meeting session that took place after the state welcoming procession.
"Indonesia is ready to create a safe and prosperous region. Indonesia is ready to strengthen cooperation with China so that together we can create a peaceful region that is safe for all," said Prabowo.
On the same occasion, Li Qiang conveyed greetings and a special message from President Xi Jinping to Prabowo, while emphasizing the importance of building a shared future between the two countries.
“First of all, I would like to convey warm greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to Your Excellency the President,” Li Qiang said.
Premier Li Qiang also recalled Prabowo’s visit to China in November last year, which resulted in important agreements between the two heads of state.
“During His Excellency the President’s visit to China in November last year, our two heads of state reached an important consensus on building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future that has regional and global influence,” he continued.
“The purpose of my visit this time is to discuss cooperation with the Indonesian side in various related fields,” Li Qiang added.
This visit is part of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-China diplomatic relations and is a symbol of strengthening the strategic partnership amidst the ever-evolving global dynamics.
The welcoming atmosphere was lively. As many as 400 Indonesian students from various levels of education unfurled the Red and White flag and the Chinese flag along the route to the Merdeka Palace, reflecting the spirit of friendship and solidarity between nations from an early age.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is collaborating with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program with plans to build 1,000 public kitchens in various regions.
