SENAYANPOST – A few days ago, Former Head of the State Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. General TNI (Ret.) Abdullah Mahmud Hendropriyono performed a cardiac ablation procedure at the Siloam Heart Diagram Hospital in Cinere, Jakarta. This cardiac ablation procedure had been scheduled well in advance.
The definition of cardiac ablation released by the Siloam Heart Diagram Hospital is a minimally invasive procedure to treat heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). This procedure is carried out by involving the use of hot or cold energy to create small scar tissue on the heart wall that can inhibit abnormal electrical impulses and restore the heart rhythm.
This surgical procedure was carried out by Doctor Harry Suryapranata, a cardiology expert who completed his cardiology specialty studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 1983. Previously, his professional medical education was obtained in 1977 at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
Doctor Harry Suryapranata has quite a lot of academic degrees, namely Prof. Dr. Harry Suryapranata, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, FIHA because of his expertise in the field of interventional cardiology subspecialties that treat several symptoms and diseases, namely acute coronary syndrome, coronary heart disease, hypertension, vascular disease and congestive heart failure.
Doctor Harry Suryapranata's experience and expertise in the world of health, especially the heart and blood vessels, received the Andreas Grunzing award from the European Society of Cardiology and the World Congress of Cardiology in Barcelona.
In 2019, Doctor Harry Suryapranata was awarded the highest award, namely Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw or Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion from the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The figure of Doctor Harry Suryapranata is one of the inspirations for the medical world in Indonesia as the first person with his colleagues to perform a heart ring installation on a heart attack patient.
